Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Lisha. I'm a Chicago native now located in North Carolina. For as long as I can remember I've appreciated and taken an interest in art. Everything from pencil drawing and pastels, to photography and dance. As time went on I dabbled in pretty much anything related to the arts. I also spent more time in The Art Institute of Chicago than most people (except maybe the tour guides) would ever dream of.

I've always been drawn to the little things in life and in nature. Most often I find myself capturing things in life that are often overlooked. Sometimes it's the colors of the trees in fall, a lonely flower, or even a moment when one of my cats melts my heart.

With photography especially one of the things I firmly believe in is capturing a moment and not necessarily creating it. Even if a photo is staged I think the trick with getting a great shot is capturing the exact moment that evokes a feeling or captures an emotion. My style and photos tend to be very raw and real in the sense that I don't normally do any type of distortion or editing.

I truly appreciate the beauty that surrounds me in the everyday world and I try not to take that for granted. I love being able to capture that spirit and bring it to other people's attention. Too many times beautiful and unique moments in life pass by unnoticed by the masses. If everyone took the time to appreciate a beautiful sunset, a brightly colored house or the skyline of a city I truly believe it would brighten everyone's day.
